How Rock and Roll Painting Transitioned Under Our Leadership in March 2024
Rock and Roll Transition
In early 2024, Rock and Roll Painting was preparing to close its doors. After staffing challenges and operational slowdown, the company was down to two painters and on the verge of shutting down entirely. Suzanne, the owner, had accepted another position, and the business was coming to an end. I stepped in with a suggestion: instead of letting the Rock and Roll Painting name disappear, why not keep it alive? The brand still carried recognition, and with the right structure, it could continue serving customers. However, I was told it was too late—the shutdown process had already begun. That’s when I proposed another idea: maintaining Rock and Roll Painting under the support, structure, and proven systems of Beach City Painting. This allowed the name to stay active while elevating the service quality through the stable, efficient processes we’ve built at Beach City Painting.
Our Friendship Since 2010
My relationship with Shane goes back to 2010. I had just sold my first hotel job on Catalina Island, and through a mutual friend’s painting company, we brought in Shane from Arkansas to help with the project. We’ve been friends ever since. Because of that long-standing relationship, supporting him through this transition was meaningful—not just as a business decision, but personally as well.
March–May 2024: Stabilizing Operations
When the original company (Suzanne) stepped away, operations were essentially down to one person—Shane. Over the next two months, I brought in my team to rebuild and stabilize the workflow. This included strengthening communication, reorganizing job management, standardizing processes, and ensuring all ongoing clients received professional service. For 18 months, Beach City Painting handled operations, crews, project management, scheduling, and customer service—ensuring Rock and Roll Painting / Beach City Painting continued to perform at a high level.
Thanksgiving Week 2025: Shane Decides to Restart Original Rock and Roll Painting
During Thanksgiving week of 2025, Shane decided he wanted to give Rock and Roll Painting another run independently.
- Rock and Roll Painting remains its own entity - the original Rock and Roll Painting license remained active, but the company has not been operational for nearly 2 years. I genuinely wish them success as they move forward in their own direction.
Where Things Stand Today
Because Beach City Painting provided the operational backbone for 18 months, I continue to maintain the marketing presence known as: Rock and Roll Painting — Powered by Beach City Painting. This creates clarity, transparency, and continuity for customers. Today, Beach City Painting operates independently with a full team, proven systems, and a consistent standard of excellence. Rock and Roll Painting is now separate and is rebuilding on it’s own.
Moving Forward
I’m proud of everything we’ve built. Beach City Painting remains the workhorse—focused, reliable, and committed to delivering outstanding results throughout Orange County. To Shane and the Rock and Roll team: I wish you the best as you restart your journey. To our clients: We look forward to continuing to serve you with quality, professionalism, and pride
